Stroud Hockey Club Information

Welcome to the wonderful world of Stroud Hockey Club ... a mystical world of wood , plastic, various kinds of carbon-based compounds ... oh, and that includes people, of course !

We run Men's teams, Ladies' teams and a Mixed team. The 2 Men's teams play in the Gerrard Hockey League, North-East Division 1 and North-East East District 2, respectively. The 2 Ladies' teams play in the West Clubs Women's Hockey League, Severn Division 1 and Severn Division 3, respectively. Matches are played on a Saturday except for the Mixed ones where victims must haul themselves out of bed on a Sunday morning. All standards are welcome from Beginners upwards ... we have nurtured future Internationals, too, although we have had a severe shortage of the latter in recent years. Why not make up for it now ... hockey could be the sport for you ! It is sociable, keeps you fit ... and you get a chance to wear that red shirt you have always wanted !

Training
Every Tuesday at Stratford Park Leisure Centre, Stroud from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. No additional charge is made for training sessions as this is included in the Match Fees. Everyone is welcome ... just turn up on a Tuesday night if you want to have a go ! Training for the 2003/2004 season started on 19 August 2003. We have an excellent new coach so please make sure you turn up regularly to support him and to ensure you get a place in one of the sides.
